The Dresses! TAFE Final Assesment

I'm not sure how long it's been since i was here.
I've been in a kind of weird place, sewing and
working at home, the printer eventually ran out of
paper - giving me a break from the paperwork that
was to go with the dress. Then it was time.

The presentation went well, lots of good comments
one small criticism of my garment board ( a better
way of attaching fabric samples) and then it was all
over. All that work, mountains of paper printed
and it was over in 10 minutes.

The finished dress.

Back with the reveal and two vintage buttons.

The belt, I kept loosing the tongue out of that.

The toile, I will complete this and it's for sale soon.

I made a little hat prop for the dress presentation.

Ready for marking.

But that's how it goes. Now onto the next dress.

The idea of this assessment is to product an outfit
which is an  'injection piece' into an
Australian Label for SS2012
The desire is to boost sales.

My chosen label is Anna Thomas

Here's the plan so far.

The drawing, not sure if doing a belt or pockets at this stage.

The fabric, 1940s rayon.

The toile.

Centre fold mark i need to get rid of.

Plunging fabric into soapy water was pretty exciting, can you see how
much dust was in there?

The burn test.

So, hopefully my life will be back to 'normal' soon,
the 14th everything is due for marking, then a
fashion parade at the town hall
the following week.

Can't wait to show you how it turns out. !
