Last post on the new studio!

This is possibly the last post on the new room! Hmmm now what am I going to talk about??

Free At Last!

This extra room has changed my life, I'm inspired  and excited all over again about vintage fabric. I love being separate and yet available to the main house and I love the easy of use - I think my packing time has about halved, I literally only have to do a 360 degree turn!  So these are the final photos of the finished room, please note the lovely touches that Ted has added for me, the black fretwork which forms a magical frame  and a beautiful tactile wooden step.

Bossy Girl and I enjoyed our first meal at the table after it was freed from it's wall position and on the veranda just some of the 14 bags of fabric I took to the Salvos.

There are still things to do to the yard and a good tidy up inside but it's all OK!

This is what 12 hours of packing fabric looks like.

I'm almost done! The top photo here near the vacuume shows half the fabric that I'm culling. I still have lots of random stuff, small pieces and fabric that was listed on Ebay yonks ago that I'm not sure where to put, I'm not really wanting to grab that lot first when I start listing again. There is more wallpaper and more craft stuff, I have no idea where to put that. But I'm done for the night. I'm super impressed I've fitted all my personal stash in the corner shelves. It all looks SO GOOD!!

I'm knocking off for the day, I'm exhausted! This is what I just did.

I've been at this for another three hours now. Second to last photo (from the top down) shows fabric that is currently listed on ebay. I have been culling fabric, please stay tuned for free fabric very soon! Ok back to it.

Moving Day! er WeeK!

Three hour's work. More today.

High expectations!

Well it's been a very quite day here, nothing but the sound of hammering. Music to my ears right now because they mean that by Monday I just might be able to start moving fabric. The shelves are almost done. And brilliant they are, Ted does a propper and thoroughly perfect job that's for sure, Thanks Ted!! He's worked so hard today, he can see how agitated I am. A good man, he is also good at other things.

I chose to have the shelves 60 cm deep just to maximize the space available for fabric, even though 60cm is not ideal in my mind. It means that fabric may have to be stacked two deep. But the strange thing is the more the shelves progress the smaller the room gets and then when I calculate the table, the desk, the sewing table, and the craft area - hmmm am I asking too much of this room?? I do expect too much of appliances that's for sure, my vacuume takes on a hell of a lot and my bar mix ...well I'm surprised it's still with me, sometimes I also expect too much of people! so there is a chance that I am expecting too much.

One thing I know for sure is I have not felt this anxious for a long long time, the move is so very close I simply can't focus on anything else. Bring it on!!! I am ready for the challenge to begin!

Studio Move - only days away - total so far $23053.62

Well it's only days now till I get to move into my new studio. Yesterday it looked like this and then this morning the lino went in. I'll be pleased to put this competition to bed too, so I can get onto more. But who was to know it would take this long. Not me I've never built anything before in my life. This morning I've done a budget update and with only the electrician to pay the total is $23053.62. The winner of this very long running competition will be announced very very soon! So if you were one of my lovely guessers stayed tuned!

Breaking through to the OTHER SIDE!

Yesterday new studio became joined to the house with a whopping big hole! ITS FANTASTIC!! Last night I sat in there and looked out the window at the moon!! it was full and beautiful. From the front door the house looks (almost) huge as you can see all the way through. Here it is in all it's pure ARGOS CREAM glory! Still a way off to moving in. I need the shelves, electrician to install lights and power points. Then the finish round the doors and skirting boards. Ted is making a wooden step and offered some fancy doorway trim. It's a bit weird yet, I feel like I've left the back door open when I'm in the dining room.
